Presenter: Viscosity’s Chief Innovation Officer, Oracle ACE Director Expert, Rich Niemiec
Rich served as President of the Independent Oracle User Group (IOUG) and is the current President of the Midwest Oracle Users Group (MOUG). Rich is one of six originally honored worldwide Oracle Certified Masters. His 34 years of experience includes database administration, performance tuning, project management and technical education. In 2017, he authored “Oracle12c Performance Tuning Tips & Techniques”, an update of his previous four best sellers; Oracle8i, 9i, 10g, and 11i Performance Tuning.
This presentation will cover Technology’s Acceleration and the Cycles of Innovation in the world. We’ll then look at the current Acceleration of the Cloud, the Big Data Revolution and some of the Big Data Solutions out there including Oracle’s Big Data Solution. We will review the role that both Google and Facebook have played in the Big Data Ecosystem and also how other NoSQL databases like Cassandra and MongoDB fit in. We’ll then look at the Internet of Things (IOT) which will drive Big Data and the Cloud even faster. Lastly, we’ll touch upon what’s coming now, robotics, and what’s coming next, implants.

Jerry was a consulting Architect for VHA, Kellogg Brown and Root, Invesco, Fidelity National Financial, Dresser Rand, Ericsson, Nortel Networks and the Human Genome Sequencing Center. Has worked with Oracle technology since 1991. He has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, Venice Magazine, 002 Houston, KXAN Austin, Tyler Morning News, Gulfscapes Magazine, and other business publications.

Benoit Chaffanjon has worked in the field IT enterprise architecture and multi-layer solutions for over 18 years and spent his recent time around Hybrid Cloud & Enterprise Solution Design as well as Optimizations of Engineered Systems. As the Chief Architect for Oracle, he leads the Gartner-rated Global Oracle Solution Centers which report directly to the Oracle CEO office. Benoit is an expert in solution and architecture design and optimization, performance analysis techniques and production environment bottleneck determination. Benoit has helped design and optimize many Fortune 100 backend environments for companies like eBay, Apple, LinkedIn, Bank of American and American Express.
This presentation will discuss the services offered by the Oracle Solution Centers. It will explain how a customer can leverage those services to help speed up their adoption of Oracle’s technology, software and hardware, on-prem or off-premise deployments.
